Types of washing machines
Window washing machine / Front washing machine
The opening is at the front. The control panel and the detergent drawer are generally accessible from the front. Standard size (85 cm high and 60 cm wide), many slightly larger front washing machines called “large capacity” washing machines can accommodate up to 13 kg of laundry.

The opening is on the top. The TOP are narrower than the “front” (standard width of 40 or 45 cm). The control panel is generally located behind the cover.
Dual function, the washer-dryer combines the washing function of a washing machine and the drying function of a tumble dryer. It can dry about 50% of the total capacity of the machine.
Built-in and integrated washing machine
A built-in washing machine coordinated with the rest of the kitchen by adding a door. It can slip under a worktop. The control panel may or may not be visible. A fully integrated or full washing machine also has hinges on which a door is fixed, allowing the control panel to appear or not.
Comparison of different types of washing machines
|Stackable (possibility of putting a dryer on it) Possibly “Large capacity” Possibly built-in under a worktop Available in an integrated version||Loading laundry inconvenient|
|TOP washing machine||Ideal for small spaces Convenient laundry loading Easier access to the drum||Small washing capacity Impossible to stack Non-recessed|
|Washer dryer||Saves space (1 machine instead of 2) Saves time Costs about the same as 2 separate machines||Drying capacity twice as low as washing Energy consuming Not as efficient as 2 separate appliances|
|Fits under a worktop Harmonizes with furniture||More expensive than a conventional washing machine Obligation of a front washing machine|
