After a well-made but far from perfect Powerstick Pro , Samsung is returning to the stick vacuum cleaner market with the Jet range, including the Jet 75, a stick- format model that is now passing into our expert hands.
Presentation
If some players in the market for stick vacuum cleaners are evolving their devices in small steps, Samsung prefers to radically change its focus by moving from the Powerstick Pro to the Jet 75. Of course, both adopt the ” stick architecture” “. But, the first important difference, monocyclonic filtration gives way to multicyclonic filtration.
The Flexhandle is now a thing of the past as well as the trigger to keep pressed to activate the boost function: a simple selector now allows you to modify the suction power (3 levels available). The Jet 75 also benefits from a 21.9 volt battery with an autonomy of up to 60 minutes. And since Samsung likes to stand out from the competition through innovation, the wealthiest can afford a whole host of new accessories ( including the Clean Station ) to improve the user experience. On paper, the Jet 75 therefore has some serious advantages to please us. But a good technical sheet does not necessarily make a good product …
Convenience of employment
Out of the box, the Jet 75 makes a pretty good impression. Far from a colorful Dyson V11 , the Korean has chosen a rather sober device, predominantly metallic gray. The plastics look good and the accessories look solid. We regret a little the differences in color with the main device, without this having an impact on the suction performance. Despite these materials that inspire confidence, the Jet 75 is rather light. In fact, it weighs only 1.64 kg in hand-held vacuum mode and 2.75 kg fitted with the tube and the motorized suction head. Long cleaning sessions should therefore not weigh too much on the arm.
Another reason for satisfaction, the suction head is proving to be very flexible and it took without flinching or skidding all the turns that we imposed on it, even the tightest. Unfortunately, it does not have a LED ramp on the front – like the one found on the Beko VRT82821BV – which makes it easier to locate rubbish under the furniture of course, but also on dark ground.
Like all stick-format stick vacuum cleaners, the heavy part (made up of the motor unit, the filtration system and the collector) is located near the user’s hand, which allows the device to be oriented in all-rounder to easily clean hard-to-reach areas. With very rare exceptions, these stick vacuums cannot stand up on their own in the parking position for storage. You often have to attach a storage base to the wall, which can also serve as a charging station. This is the case here since the base is equipped with electrical connectors and it suffices to place the Jet there for the recharging to begin.
Note that Samsung has thought of those who do not want to make holes in the walls. So it is possible to place the station on a flat surface and insert the removable battery of the vacuum cleaner. The more fussy will have noticed the absence of a female socket on the battery which would allow it to be connected directly to the transformer, but in the context of daily use, this is not really a problem.
Just as Dyson had done for the V10 – followed by a plethora of manufacturers – Samsung chose to place the manifold in line with the suction tube. But if this solution helps to fluidify the air flow in the British, it is difficult to understand its interest – other than aesthetic – on the Jet 75: the tube passes under the tank before being directed towards the cyclones, which multiplies changes of direction. Is it because of this particular architecture? You have to detach the waste bin from the Jet 75 to empty it, which is still much less practical than a collector with a pivoting bottom, as is the case on the Candy CAS10 .
The handling of the Jet 75 presents no bad surprises. All the controls are accessible with the thumb and we master the beast in less time than it takes to tell. We start by turning it on by pressing the “on / off” key, adorned with the classic pictogram. Then you switch from one suction power to another by pressing the “plus” and “minus” buttons: it’s hard to be simpler. The digital display precisely indicates the activated power level (Max, Med, Min). The latter (Wet) is only used when the rotating Spinning Sweepers are clipped to the suction tube.
A few ideograms complete the whole and light up when certain operating faults occur (air flow blocked, rotating brush stuck, filter missing). The intention is commendable and these alerts work perfectly, without necessarily equaling the Dyson V11 in this area, which gives an idea of the operating time remaining to the nearest second. However, we would have appreciated that the display also gives an estimate of the autonomy a little more precise than the simple trio of diodes on board the battery.
Samsung is generous in accessories. This Jet 75 version is delivered with a mini flat brush, a long nozzle, an angled tube and a special parquet suction head – which is reminiscent of the Dyson “Fluffy” soft brush – and a mini brush motorized.
Suction
The Jet 75 fulfills its mission efficiently, but without shining too much.
On long-pile carpets and fitted with the normal brush (or Turbo Action Brush), the most suitable for this surface, it picks up 85.8% of the waste in 2 minutes of suction at medium power. Obviously, it is more efficient when we engage the maximum speed, but we hardly exceed 89.3% of efficiency in 120 s.
On fine carpet, a perfect result is obtained in 30 seconds thanks to the normal brush and maximum power. At the same time, but at intermediate speed, an efficiency of 98.3% is reached and the floor is spotless in 1 min. The minimum power gives completely acceptable results (94% of the waste sucked in 30 s, 100% in 1 min). With the soft brush (or Soft Action Brush), 97% of the detritus is collected in 30 s at minimum power, 98.4% at intermediate power and 97.9% at maximum power; in all three cases, the ground is clear in 30 s. On this surface, it is therefore recommended to use the normal brush and the highest power.
Surprisingly, on hard ground, the efficiency of the Jet 75 with its classic brush is inversely proportional to the power used. If it collects 100% of the waste in 1 min, it only collects 92% in 30 s at the maximum level, 95.8% at the intermediate level and 97.5% at the minimum level. It is very likely that the propensity of the conventional brush to push the rice behind is responsible for these atypical results. In fact, by using the soft brush, an efficiency rate of 98.4% in 30 s is achieved at the lowest power and of 99% for the other two modes. The floor is clean in 1 min of vacuuming.
Working
As we have already pointed out, emptying the collector requires it to be separated from the main block. You can then remove the filtration unit – which acts as a cover – to empty the tank. This method is less fluid than that of the Hoover h-Free 700 , for example, equipped with a collector whose bottom opens after pressing a dedicated button. But it was especially the difficulty of replacing the container on the vacuum cleaner that made us wince. Of course, we get there, but even after several uses and despite the guides on the Jet 75, you sometimes have to force, turn, try again in order to reassemble the assembly correctly. This mishap does not happen on The Philips Speedpro Max, whose drain system is however very similar.FILTRATION
Samsung was well inspired to orient the Jet 75’s communication around high-end filtration (multicyclonic, remember), because it is simply perfect. The 20 grams of cocoa powder that we made him suck are completely redirected and kept in the waste bin.
As proof, the foam filter and the fine dust filter – the last bulwark for the air sucked in before being discharged out of the device – did not take even a tenth of a gram. They are therefore not likely to be saturated quickly, which would have lost suction power. In addition, the filters are very easy to remove to be cleaned or replaced as needed.
The extraction of the motorized heads of the brushes (classic or soft) is not more complicated since it suffices to press the appropriate button; no tools are therefore necessary, as can sometimes happen. Note that they are replaced in their homes just as easily.
Features
The Jet 75 is not a long haul and it finally reaches the end of its range quite quickly.
Indeed, at the maximum power level and with the motorized brush in operation, it runs out of steam after only 10 min 15 s. By lowering the power, we gain a little autonomy and it can last 24 min 30 s at intermediate power. But even by switching on the lowest power level, you cannot expect to suck for more than 43 min, always with the rotating brush engaged. Many other devices are more enduring. By comparison, the Philips SpeedPro Max, champion in all categories, takes 85 min.
Note that it takes 2 h 35 min to fully charge the battery when the vacuum cleaner is placed on its base.
Noise
Unless you have active noise reduction headphones , it is not yet possible to calmly appreciate all the richness of the toccata and fugue in D minor BWV 565 by Johann Sebastian Bach while vacuuming, and the Jet 75 is no exception to the rule.
It is however relatively discreet since its sound level does not exceed 65 dB (A) at intermediate power and 70 dB (A) at maximum power. We just exceed 63 dB (A) at the lowest power level, compared with the sound level of a normal conversation, estimated at 60 dB (A).

With the Jet 75 stick vacuum cleaner, Samsung is not yet meeting the top of the market, but it is coming very close. The emptying of the collector – and especially its replacement after the operation – would have deserved more efforts on the part of the Korean engineers. The fact remains that this model has simply perfect filtration quality thanks to the controlled use of muticyclonic technology. What is more, it fulfills its function very satisfactorily in a relatively contained noise.
