Belkin has released the new Boost Charge 3-in-1 charger. This allows you to charge your iPhone, Apple Watch and AirPods at the same time. In this review of the Belkin Boost Charge 3-in-1 you can read what we think of this charger.

Belkin Boost Up Charge 3-in-1 review

The range of wireless chargers for iPhone and AirPods is still growing. Manufacturers regularly introduce new models, some of which are suitable for several devices. The new Belkin Boost Up Charge 3-in-1 Wireless Charger is a great example of this. It is the successor to the Belkin Boost Up wireless charger , of which we previously wrote a review on iCultere. In this review of the Belkin Boost Up Charge 3-in-1 charger, you can read whether the new version is an improvement.

Belkin Boost Up Charge 3-in-1 in short

These are the main features of the Belkin Boost Up Charge 3-in-1:

  • 3-in-1 charger for iPhone, Apple Watch and AirPods, all wireless
  • Available in black and white
  • Wireless charging up to 7.5 Watt
  • Two variant: exclusive Apple version and standard version
  • Supplied with power cable
  • Available from about € 110

For starters, there are two versions of this Belkin Boost Up Charge 3-in-1 charging station available: the standard version and a version specially made for Apple. The only difference is in the design. The charging disk that your iPhone stands upright against is round in the Apple version and elongated in the standard version. The base also has a different shape: rectangular for Apple and oval for the standard version. We have tested the implementation of Apple for this review. We find the design just a bit more beautiful, especially due to the rectangular base and the aluminum leg against which the round charging disk rests.

Both versions are almost identical in terms of operation and specifications. Only the indicator light is in a different place on Apple’s: on top of the joint instead of at the front of the edge. Belkin did the same with the predecessor, which was also available in two versions. Apple’s is slightly more expensive at € 129.95 . If you want to save money, you can also opt for the standard version. The price of the latest version is also cheaper than the introductory price of the predecessor.

The biggest advantage of this Belkin charging station, we find, is that the iPhone stands upright. This is a lot more pleasant for next to your bedside table than horizontally on a charging mat. If you want to quickly see what time it is or want to turn off your alarm more easily, an iPhone that is vertical is just a bit easier than one that lies flat on its back. Moreover, you know much better how to set up the iPhone for wireless charging. You have less hassle with putting your iPhone down properly than with a regular charging mat. The charger works with most iPhone cases.

The Apple Watch charger is also nicely integrated. As with the previous version, you put the Apple Watch on its side. Night clock mode is then immediately active. Some of the other chargers we tested, such as the Zens Dual + Watch , have the Apple Watch on an elevation. Due to the weight of the strap, the Apple Watch sometimes turns over. You won’t be bothered by that with this Belkin charger.

Also charge AirPods wirelessly with Belkin Boost Up Charge

The biggest improvement compared to the previous model is that you can also charge your AirPods wirelessly. The previous versions had a USB-A connection on the back so that you could charge a third device (such as the AirPods) with a cable. That was not ideal and that is why a second wireless charging point has now been added. This is right behind the Apple Watch charger. The Apple Watch strap is therefore around your AirPods charging case. Both the wireless charging case of the regular AirPods and the AirPods Pro are suitable.

Charging can sometimes be a bit difficult, because space is a bit tight. That’s not necessarily a bad thing, because we don’t put the AirPods case on the charger every day anyway. Through the notch in the plateau, you can immediately see where you should put your AirPods box. An indicator light also indicates that the AirPods case is charging.

Speaking of indicator lights: a status light is also built in for the wireless charging of your iPhone. This is on the Apple version on top of the charging station. The light isn’t too bright, so it won’t bother you in your bedroom at night either. With the standard version and some other chargers, the light is often at the front, which we find a lot more disturbing. We do find a disadvantage of this charger that it no longer has a USB connection. That made this charger the ultimate 4-in-1 charging station.

Conclusion Belkin Boost Up Charge

The Belkin Boost Up Charge 3-in-1 is our new favorite wireless charging station. You can charge your iPhone, Apple Watch and wireless AirPods case all at the same time. The vertical charger for your iPhone is more practical than a horizontal charging mat and the Apple Watch also lies well on the charger. The space behind it is optimally used for your AirPods charging case.

We like the design of the Apple version best, partly due to the aluminum pillar to which the wireless charging disk is attached. If you want to be cheaper, you can’t go wrong with the standard version. We do find the price on the high side, also for the standard version. You will soon lose more than € 100 anyway. This AirPower alternative is therefore somewhat more expensive than competing chargers.
