Amazon Alexa brand alerts – Good news for fans of Minions or Jurassic Park: Amazon today announced Branded Alarms. With these brand alarms you can wake up to familiar Minion sounds or other tunes from famous movies and series. In addition, Alexa will now also provide more information for COVID test locations.
Amazon Alexa brand alerts
With Alexa brand alarms, which Amazon calls Alexa Branded Alarms, you can download sounds from various series and films. You can then choose from different tunes. For example Minions, where you can select various sound effects to wake up to. This includes brand alerts for you smart speaker or smart display of the following series and films:
- Spongebob
- Jurassic World
- Minions
- Harry Potter
However, these are by no means all and we expect more to come in the future. Think of it a bit like the old ringtone on your phone.
Alexa corona information
Although it is not yet entirely clear whether this function will also be supported in the Netherlands, it is possible in other regions: information about COVID-19 test locations, among other things. You can now just ask Alexa by saying one of the following three spoken commands to the voice assistant:
- Ok Alexa, open vaccine trial
- Ok Alexa, find COVID trial
- Ok Alexa, tell me about a covid study near me
Once again; it is therefore not entirely clear whether we will soon be able to use this in the Netherlands. Amazon has announced that it is collaborating with research institute IQVIA for this.
