Satechi is known to all of us. We have already tested practical charging accessories in the form of a charger and charging station , as well as a USB-C Apple Watch charger and the Satechi Type-C Pro Hub . Today it’s all about charging again – and mobile. The Satechi Quatro Wireless Powerbank with 10,000 mAh charges your iPhone and Apple Watch wirelessly on the go.
If a manufacturer knows what makes Apple users tick, it is Satechi. With its accessories, the company repeatedly adapts its latest products to Apple devices. Be it the shapes and edges or the colors . As a rule, the quality is also convincing. Satechi doesn’t quite make it with the Quatro Wireless Powerbank , at least if you look at the design of the Powerbank, but there are reasons for that. But how do the accessories perform in everyday life?
Satechi Quatro Wireless Powerbank – wireless charging on the go
“ Wireless charging on the go” – that’s exactly what the Satechi Quatro Wireless Powerbank wants to make possible for Apple users. We took a close look at the power bank. The package contains a USB-C cable as well as the power bank and operating instructions . Almost self-explanatory, but with a few necessary information, the Satechi Powerbank is taken out of the box and can be used directly. However, we recommend charging beforehand, even if the accessories are almost full.
Simple design with rubberized surfaces and some plastic
The portable all-in-one charger comes to your home in a chic design and is easy to hold thanks to the rubberized surfaces. The frame is made of plastic with a metal look . The high gloss looks good on the power bank – but we would have liked real metal here and would have significantly enhanced the feel. However, this does not detract from the design. The rubberized surface is still noble and really high quality thanks to the matt finish. Because aluminum has not been used at this point , scratches when placing the devices are avoided . We think that’s a good solution, but you can still recognize the accessories as Satechi originals thanks to a similar design language.
Connections explained – operation with a single button?
The upper side visibly receives the Apple Watch and next to it the iPhone to supply both devices with wireless power at the same time. Two outputs or one input were installed on the front. While you can recharge the power bank yourself with the USB-C port , you can also supply an external device with 18 watts with the same connection . The second output is not quite as powerful, but it also easily cracks the 10 watt limit. If you will, the power bank can charge three or four devices at the same time. Really a great thing if you travel a lot.
10,000 mAh is enough for a good day to supply all of his devices with power if necessary. In our test, after a long day , we connected the iPhone, Apple Watch and another iPad Pro to the Quatro Wireless Powerbank from Satechi. The iPhone and Apple Watch were at 100%, the iPad Pro at 47% – really nice! Even a 13-inch MacBook Pro can be charged with the power bank – the efficiency naturally drops a lot, but the Satechi power bank is not made for this either.
The Satechi Quatro Wireless Powerbank only needs one button that has to be pressed either briefly, long or twice. If you press the button once, the five LED indicators on the front light up and show the current charge level. If you press the same button twice, wireless charging is activated and you can hang up your devices, which then immediately start the charging process. It’s pretty quick and easy. A blue LED confirms the activation of the Qi charging function, which changes to red as soon as a device is placed on the device. A long press deactivates the power bank. Unfortunately, the button is also made of plastic and lies a little loosely in its recess – it really rattles . A clear minus point.
Also with pass-through charging? Use as a mobile charging station
The wireless charging function can also be used with the USB-C cable plugged in. The Quatro Wireless Powerbank can also be used as a mobile charging station in hotels, on vacation or with friends. A short double press of the button on the side is all that is necessary to start the charging process. The equally rubberized underside of the power bank makes it a good charging station. The overall impression is actually very positive , as there are hardly any such quality solutions on the market at the moment.
However, it should be noted that for longer periods of use as a charging station, the Satechi charging station linked above is probably the better choice. The battery, which is always 100% full, only harms the power bank unnecessarily. Rather, it should be seen as a “ always with you ” solution that only waits to be used when there is no power socket.
Conclusion – SATECHI Quatro Wireless Powerbank
If you rely on wireless charging and only want to charge your devices in this way, you will probably not get around the mobile charging solution from Satechi. Of course, wireless charging is n’t as efficient as wired charging, but it’s a lot nicer. The great thing about the Satechi Quatro Wireless Powerbank is the ability to use a cable, making it extremely flexible. Almost every device can be charged with the power bank. We like the integration of the Apple Watch charging panel very much. The workmanship is extremely successful here. Unfortunately, we have to address the somewhat looser side button again at this point, which could have been incorporated better. Nevertheless, this is not a knockout criterion , as the accessories otherwise do everything right.
The Quatro Wireless is ideal for mobile people who want to wirelessly charge Apple Watch, AirPods and iPhone. Anyone who also wants to fire up the iPad and sometimes the MacBook will also get their money’s worth. The 10,000 mAh are sufficient for everyday life and provide the necessary energy boost at the right time. The accessories are available for 99 euros .
