Logitech Circle View Wired Doorbell supports HomeKit Secure Video

This article presents the first view and details of Logitech Circle View Wired doorbell for you. The bell launch recently for $ 199.99.

This is the Logitech Circle View Wired Doorbell

The Logitech Circle View Wired Doorbell is one of a kind for now, as the device offers support for HomeKit Secure Video. The new smart doorbell is currently only for sale in the United States, where the device has a price tag of $ 199.99. You can order the product there via the website of Apple and of course via the Logitech website. Converted, you would end up with approximately 200 euros including tax in the Netherlands. It is not yet clear whether the product will also come to the Netherlands.

Technically, this isn’t quite the first smart doorbell to support HomeKit Secure Video. The Robin ProLine is the first doorbell with the secure standard, but Logitech’s product is the first that is truly intended for the average consumer.

The Logitech Circle View Wired Doorbell is designed so that the system only works with Apple HomeKit. That means that you do not have to count on support for Amazon Alexa, Google Home or Google Assistant, or other platforms. The doorbell has a five megapixel camera and a viewing angle of 160 degrees. The sensor is able to record videos in a maximum resolution of 1200 by 1600 pixels and in high dynamic range (HDR). There is also an LED strip, so that the camera can also see what is happening in front of the door in the dark.

By integrating with HomeKit Secure Video, Logitech can outsource the smart aspect of the camera to Apple’s system. For example, you will receive a notification via the Apple Home app when someone is at the door. In addition, it uses the iCloud service to stream, store and share videos. Furthermore, devices such as the Apple TV and the HomePod act as processor hubs, allowing the system to determine whether, for example, a person or car is registered. It also uses Apple’s facial recognition functionality (based on the photos in your own library).
