Google Home Max retired: smart speaker is sold out

Google Home Max is retired and no more production will be established. It is announced by Google officials.

Google Home Max taken out of production

The Google Home Max was Google’s first smart speaker with support for hi-fi audio. The search engine giant is leaving now know that the large smart speaker is completely sold out and will no longer be produced in the future. Users with the speaker in the home will still receive updates in the coming period as there are currently no plans to withdraw support for the device.

The Google Home Max has been for sale since 2017 for an amount of $ 399 and was never officially released in the Netherlands. The smart speakers has two custom tweets and two 4.5-inch woofers. It is immediately clear why the Home Max has been discontinued. The Nest Audio is also designed with hi-fi in mind, which means that the larger speakers had to give up their place in the range. The Nest Audio has a 75mm woofer and 19mm tweeter and comes with software that optimizes the audio reproduction.

For example, if you were to purchase two Nest Audios, you would get a similar sound (perhaps even better sound) as that of the Google Home Max. Google emphasizes that speaker owners have nothing to worry about as support remains. Since the speaker was also offered through various web stores in the Netherlands and Germany, there will undoubtedly be a lot of users in Europe who are happy with such news.
